N4 Solutions reaches finals of The Citizen Gloucestershire Echo Business Awards
2006
Contribution to the Community Award
N4Solutions, a leading technology company for the UK financial services industry
based in Poulton near Cirencester, has been selected as one of three finalists for
The Citizen Gloucestershire Echo Business Awards, under the category
of Contribution to the Community, which is sponsored by the South
West of England Regional Development Agency.
The Citizen Gloucestershire Echo Business Awards are an editorial
initiative, designed to turn the spotlight on successful companies and entrepreneurs
in the region. Already a highly respected and established part of the local business
scene they have been attracting an increasingly high calibre of entrant as well
as major league sponsors.
Steve Jones, CEO, N4 comments, We are thrilled to be nominated as a finalist. We
are proud of N4, which has a sense of community at the core of the business. We
believe that charitable giving and activities can be combined with business success
and add a greater sense of purpose to an organisation.
Judges for the Contribution to the Community Award are looking
for a company, which has made a significant contribution to the community in which
it operates, such as support for education and learning programmes, provision of
work experience and retraining programmes or activities aimed at reducing unemployment.
N4 has developed very strong ties with the National Star College in Cheltenham a
Further Education college for 16-25 year olds with complex physical disabilities
and associated learning difficulties. As well as financial and business support,
N4 also provides the opportunity to gain work experience at its offices. As the
students' disabilities are often quite severe, this may be the only real opportunity
they get to experience a working environment. In addition, Steve Jones, N4's CEO,
who instigated the National Star College initiative, is responsible for the sponsorship
of educational achievement within prisons, supporting offenders who demonstrate
a commitment to getting back on the working ladder and who are keen to reintegrate
into society.
N4 also recently received The Gold Award from the Home Secretary,
which is a symbol of excellence and is awarded to employers that have succeeded
in generating sustainable income sources for UK charities through Payroll Giving.
The winners will be announced at the Awards Presentation Dinner to be held at The
Centaur, Cheltenham Racecourse on Thursday 12 October.
